Mikel’s career further advanced as he joined the Under-23 Olympic team, contributing significantly to Nigeria’s gold medal victory at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. His remarkable versatility and leadership qualities eventually earned him a spot on the senior national team, the Super Eagles.
